Gandolo IV was a location where,[2] by 3 ABY,[3] the smugglers Han Solo and Chewbacca had attempted to build a secret Wookiee colony. Their efforts were thwarted by the Trandoshan bounty hunter Bossk, who almost succeeded in capturing the pair to claim the bounty on their heads.[2]
Behind the scenes
Gandolo IV was mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in "Tooth and Claw," a short story written by Michael Kogge and published in the From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back anthology in 2020.[2] It originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned as a planet in Galaxy Guide 3: The Empire Strikes Back, a 1989 supplement written by Michael Stern for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[4] It then appeared for the first time in the 1998 Legends video game Star Wars: Rebellion.[5]
