A fusion engine was a type of engine that was used by sandcrawlers. The engines consisted of several components such as a power core and a stellaract unit that to confined plasma within the engine.[1]
In 3 ABY,[2] the scoundrel Kay Vess traded ten units of coarseweave, six accu-accelerators and five MG-2 power exceeders to the Jawa merchant Pinota Pakinota in exchange for a fusion engine core. She later traded that engine core to Entip in exchange for a BT-P7 ion accelerator to upgrade her VM-19 heavy blaster pistol.[1]
Behind the scenes
Fusion engines were mentioned in the 2024 video game, Star Wars Outlaws, developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft. The player must obtain a fusion engine core to as part of the process for upgrading their blaster's ion surge module to level four. Fusion engines are also mentioned in the description of the stellaract unit item.[1]
