A BT-P7 ion accelerator was a particle accelerator that could be used to increase the range of ion blasts fired from an ion blaster. The accelerator utilized a laser actuator that fired through Quad-helix prismatic crystals to achieve its increase range.[1] By 3 ABY,[2] the Jawa Entip had come into possession of a BT-P7 ion accelerator and offered it as a trade item while traveling in a sandcrawler on the desert planet Tatooine.[1]

In 3 ABY,[2] the scoundrel Kay Vess traded a fusion engine core and two thousand credits to Entip in exchange for the ion accelerator which she later used it to the modify her VM-19 heavy blaster pistol's ion module.[1]

Behind the scenes

A BT-P7 ion accelerator appeared as an upgrade item in the 2024 video game, Star Wars Outlaws, developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft. The player must obtain the trigger in order upgrade their blaser's surge ion module to level four.[1]
