Unidentified swamp planet (talk - history - links - logs - delete - protect)
The planet was first identified as Dagobah in the "Design An Alien" contest article of Star Wars Galaxy Magazine 9. Leland Chee stated that the Design An Alien content was canon to EU unless contradicted by another source. On Wookieepedia, this planet was labeled as unidentified because a quote by George Lucas stating that Revenge of the Sith was the first time Yoda visited Dagobah contradicted the article's story. This fact was reversed when Yoda visited Dagobah before the events of the film in Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 6 Episode 11 "Voices". Since the original reason for keeping the planet unidentified was nullified and the Clone Wars episode doesn't explicitly state Yoda's trip to Dagobah was his first time, I think this page should be deleted an all associated pages should be updated to reflect this planet as Dagobah.

- Since Galaxy Magazine explicitly says this is Dagobah. Rsand 30 (talk) 15:41, 7 June 2024 (UTC)

- I honestly don't think that would be our call to make when we were explicitly told that Dagobah being the planet where Yoda was trained is not part of continuity, even though The Clone Wars introduced more inconsistencies later. We also still have sources like The Legendary Yoda and Fact File that refer to the planet only as an "obscure swamp planet" while Dagobah is mentioned by name on the same page. And even if we decided to consider Chee's statement as nullified, that would still not mean that this swamp planet is Dagobah since the "Design An Alien" entry on N'Kata Del Gormo is treated as an in-universe legend within the Legends continuity.

- Legendary Yoda and Fact File released before "Voices" so both are going off the fact that the Design An Alien entry that included this planet was contradicted by George's statements.Logan.Likes.Legends (talk) 02:42, 8 June 2024 (UTC)

- Per Anil. Worth mentioning the discrepancies in the BtS section. Bonzane10

Hey, it's me! 05:10, 8 June 2024 (UTC) - It's a messy situation for sure, but I tend to agree that one instance of the canon contradicting the Lucas/Chee comments does not override several sources explicitly establishing these worlds as separate entities. - In the Clone Wars episode, Qui-Gon says "Come to Dagobah". Yoda doesn't say "how do I get there" or "where's Dagobah" or "whats Dagobah", he just says "Why". Seems like Yoda is familiar with the planet and travels there without any assistance.Logan.Likes.Legends (talk) 04:43, 7 June 2024 (UTC)
- I don't really see why Yoda not asking "Where's Dagobah?" would mean he has been there before. He could have simply used a star map to go there, as Luke Skywalker did in Episode V.

- Yeah it's really not an indication either way. Imperators II(Talk) 07:53, 8 June 2024 (UTC)
