Minas Velti's lightsaber
I see nothing notable about this lightsaber. This should all just be covered in an Equipment section on Minas Velti's article. Master Fredcerique(talk) (he/him) 10:09, 30 December 2023 (UTC)

- I love Minas Velti, but unfortunately, this can just be covered in her equipment. Adaptation appearances don't do much to add to notability. NBDani

- Why isn't this lightsaber notable? It appeared in the opening scene of Part I and the Comic. Let's Discuss. Elijah Palmer (talk) 10:52, 30 December 2023 (EST)
- Is the lightsaber appearing in a single source plus its adaptation the only argument you have for its notability? Imperators II(Talk) 15:56, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
- It appeared more than once. So it's notable. Besides it's the same as Nari's lightsaber. Elijah Palmer (talk) 11:01, 30 December 2023 (EST)
- Nari's lightsaber played into the narrative of the episode, whereas Minas' didn't. Minas used it in one scene and that's it. Bonzane10

- But it does play into Reva's flashback. Which is important.Elijah Palmer (talk) 11:11, 30 December 2023 (EST)
- Personally I'm not familiar with these sources, so all I have to go by here are our articles for them - and based on those, Nari's lightsaber, by virtue of what its role was, what unique actions were done with it, sounds notable whereas Minas Velti's doesn't. - I'm just trying to help the Wiki out. I was surprised that there was no page when this came out.Elijah Palmer (talk) 11:16, 30 December 2023 (EST)
- Elijah, every editor on here is trying to help the wiki out. Also, you keep throwing around the "multiple appearances equal automatic notability" argument (though I intentionally highlighted that one of the two sources you point to is simply an adaptation of the other), but judging by the number of votes already in favor of just mentioning this lightsaber in the Equipment section of the character's article, I'd say it's not really as universal a notability principle as you imagine it is. (Note that such a principle isn't even codified in our Notability policy - perhaps with good reason.) Imperators II(Talk) 16:17, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
- Nari's lightsaber was also directly referenced by Obi-Wan. It was used as an object lesson in that he was trying to get Nari to abandon it and the Order. If that single source Topps card had directly referenced the lightsaber, like saying something like, "Velti used her lightsaber to defend her students..." or something like that, I'd probably be voting to keep. But as it is, it should be redirected. - JMAS

- It also appeared on her Card Trader card. Star Wars: Card Trader No set defined! Elijah Palmer (talk) 16:40, 30 December 2023 (EST)
- The link you provided for the card leads to a dead end, and irregardless simply appearing in a source multiple times does not make something notable, otherwise we'd have articles for basically everything. The general, long-standing practice for lightsaber notability is that it needs to do more than simply appear; there needs to be a unique aspect to this lightsaber, an explicit claim of the lightsaber by the owner beyond just using it (hence JMAS's mention of "her lightsaber"), or it needs to have a significant role beyond simply being used in a scene. Minas Velti's lightsaber may appear in multiple sources, but there is nothing unique regarding it, there is no explicit claim to it, nor does it play any thematic or narrative role beyond simply being used. I will also make it clear the examples I provided of what would make a lightsaber notable are not policy—merely the general manner by which we decide it. - Thannus (DFaceG) (he/him) (talk) 07:09, 31 December 2023 (UTC)
