2022 BBY (history - links - logs - delete - protect)

The year is derived from the fact that Durge was 2000 years old during a mission that takes place in 22 BBY (21.7 BBY so be exact, but that's still part of that latter date). Given we can't say he turned 2000 in 22 BBY, it amounts to an approximate date (just like the article treats it), and so this article in not notable. I also find it weird to run with the idea that Durge was just exactly 2000 years old during his notable appearance as it makes more sense that they were just approximating.

  3. Also the Databank says he was "born two thousand years before the fall of the Republic," which would correspond to 2019 BBY, so it seems like these dates are just approximations and not literally the exact year. Rsand 30 (talk) 15:53, 31 December 2022 (UTC)

Keep

We have many many MANY year articles that are the approximate year for events, based off similar wording. This is a dangerous precedent and I see no reason to delete this particular one when that year is equally valid. The year is notable because it is the approximate year of his birth, rather than 2300 BBY or 1800 BBY or any other random year Manoof (he/him/his) RainbowRebellion2 02:37, 3 January 2023 (UTC)

  • Well there's also the issue of inconsistency. The databank says he's "almost two thousand years" old, "born two thousand years before the fall of the Republic" (which would be 2019 BBY), and the Fact File describes him as a "2,000-year-old bounty hunter" during the Mission to Queyta (which would be 2022 BBY). He couldn't have been born in 2022 BBY, 2019 BBY, and also be almost two thousand years old, so unlike other approximate dates that would be notable, we shouldn't treat this literally.
