So, while idly fixing some stuff, I decided to generate Category:Media with unreferenced timeline placements and its subcategories, which exposed a few oddities—we have several OOU media infoboxes that have a timeline= field that, frankly, shouldn't have one. The general rule is, if we list it in Sources, it shouldn't have the parameter. Thus, we vote.

Vote 1: Remove timeline parameter from {{ComicCollection}}

Support

1. Comic collections are inherently collections of other media, and not their own narrative; the Omnibus series, for example, is a collection of wildly-different comics from various sources and timeframes, and nothing is gained from having a timeline parameter here. The timeline data for comic collections is useful (if not moreso useful then the same data on a single issue or micro-series) since these collections compile vast swathes of issues across a series or even multiple series, as aforementioned. 1. Any web article that does have some sort of timeline placement should be using {{ShortStory}} or {{Adventure}}. Frankly most of our articles on web articles are kinda unnecessary but that's a subject for another day. Cade Calrayn 23:05, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
