The result of the debate was Support both proposals.
A recent conversation we Discussions moderators had with administrators over Discord prompted the suggestion that we codify the Discussions Guidelines as official site guidelines. The link to the forum guidelines page is already on the Discussions page as well as in the Guidelines category, so the remaining changes are very simple.
There's also a tiny amendment to the actual rules themselves, specifying that AI-generated content doesn't belong in forum posts. For any forum users new to voting, note that there are two votes on this page, so please remember to vote in both!
Motion 1: Guidelines codification
This amendment is an assertion that the forum guidelines are subject to the same policies as other site guidelines are. I've noted that moderators do still have the right to update the forum guidelines directly; we only do this to place designated spoiler threads in an accessible place, such as the ones that will inevitably be created for each episode of Ahsoka.
Also, since the {{Guideline}} template would then belong at the beginning of the Guidelines section on the Discussions policy page, the leading "This page is a Wookieepedia guideline" caption should be changed to begin with "This page or section" for accuracy. That specific change doesn't require consensus, but it would be brought about by this motion regardless.
Guidelines (current version)
Supplementary to the Discussions rules are the Discussions Guidelines, which exist to support the rules and further encourage proper forum discourse. They include tips on writing posts and links to important resource threads.
Guidelines (proposed revision including {{Guideline}} as modified above)
Supplementary to the Discussions rules are the Discussions Guidelines, which exist to support the rules and further encourage proper forum discourse. They include tips on writing posts and links to important resource threads. Moderators may make minor adjustments to the Guidelines page at their discretion, especially to update thread links, but major changes should be proposed on the Consensus track.

Motion 2: Rules amendment
Let's keep AI "art" off the forum entirely. I really don't think that needs any explanation. We delete most of it already anyway.
Rule #9 (current version)
No self-promotion or asking for upvotes. Additionally, wish lists, fanon, and roleplay are part of what Wookieepedia is not and belong elsewhere.
Rule #9 (proposed revision)

- I don't oppose the concept of AI entirely, but as it currently exists it's essentially art theft, and even then it just doesn't really have a place on Wookieepedia.- Thannus (DFaceG) (he/him) (talk) 19:02, 19 August 2023 (UTC)

As this is the first consensus vote subject to the new provision for forum users, I've announced the change to the forum for transparency, so if any forum users ask questions here or on that thread, please help them out! Otherwise the purpose of giving the forum a say on relevant matters won't really be carried out all that well if nobody knows about it. Jedi Sarith LeKit (talk) 19:38, 19 August 2023 (UTC)
