So, this started out as a fairly simple "let's add an Installments section" and has... uh... expanded quite a bit over the last 2 hours. May I present the squeakquel to Forum:CT:Overhauling the Real-World Media Layout Guide; basically just a bunch of minor points/cleanup that weren't codified in the prior one. For book series and other non-comic, non-television groupings, we don't have a dedicated section for the parts; thus, someone in the Discord suggested "Installments", and then we've ended up writing down all the various suggestions people have had over the last few months. (I am very tired and am going to bed after this). Cade Calrayn 04:39, 28 May 2025 (UTC)

Vote #1: Rename "Published Narrative Works" to "Published Works"
Self-explanatory; a lot of our media articles are non-narrative in nature, and the section structure was designed to apply to all media anyways.

Vote #3: Installments header for Multimedia
Adding a dedicated "Installments" bullet point for multimedia projects after the television season point of the Media sublist. The Prettytable format works very well on THR and is the best fit for multi-format media.

Vote #4: Installments header
And here's a bullet point for the other series types.
- Articles on book series, video game series, multimedia projects, and other series of interconnected works should include an Installments section to document information such as the release dates and authors of the individual works. If the works have individual covers, this information may be presented using a gallery tag to display the covers captioned by the individual works' information, though the captions must be properly referenced, as illustrated here.

Adding the following sub-point to the Appearances section's first bullet point, after the future-exception clause; basically allows for the usage of {{App}} on those rare TPBs with unique content.
- An additional exception to this rule is for collections that include unique content not originally printed in the collected material, such as Star Wars: Darth Vader - Dark Lord of the Sith Vol. 2, which includes concept art and unfinished panels from the Star Wars: Darth Vader (2017) comic series not printed in the original issues.

Vote #7: OOU Appearances
Adding the following text to the end of the Appearances section, as currently the usage of {{OOUappearances}} is unsupported by policy. I know the scope of the template is... up for debate, but I'm comfortable with its use on works that are explicitly OOU-focused.
- For real-world reference works such as Star Wars Year by Year: A Visual Chronicle and The Art of Solo: A Star Wars Story that discuss the real-world history or of Star Wars media or otherwise focus primarily on behind-the-scenes information, the Appearances section may use {{OOUappearances}} in an Out-of-universe appearances subheader to document the real-world people, organizations, locations, and media that are mentioned in the work. If this subsection is present, the {{App}} template should be prefaced by an In-universe appearances subheader.

- Right now, every current OOUappearances on a page is subject to immediate removal; it's simply not permitted by the OOU LG. I also don't think this clause at all necessarily means that scope can't be expanded in the future; we do that all the time (infobox galleries have regularly received expansion of scope). But, if this fails to pass, that means we'd be immediately stripping OOUappearances from even OOU reference works, due to well, this failing. I don't believe this loss of information does Wookieepedia any benefit and think further expansions of this clause are best taken to SH, hashed out, and given their own CT. This as a measure to simply save most of them, rather than auto-nuke all of them, seems pretty reasonable. I too support the scope being expanded to one such as Dani mentions, but don't believe voting for this is mutually exclusive since the end effect is simply saving the content on some of these on the page, so rather than having to re-add it later down the road by pulling it from the edit-history, it remains visible to readers in the meanwhile.—spookywillowwtalk 11:11, 28 May 2025 (UTC)

Vote #9: Mediacat
So, with Spooky and I's tweaking of the Mediacat template, it's no longer necessary to lock it to the Sources section only, and the from=1 parameter can be codified. This amended text will be removed from the Sources section and moved to its own subsection of Article Indexing, above Appearances:
- In the instance two or more images, sound files, or animations on Wookieepedia originate from or were created by the article's subject, corresponding categories must be created. These must be linked to via the {{Mediacat}} template, which should be placed at the top of a given section, immediately below the section header. For articles on real-world media, the
from=1parameter must be used. The {{Mediacat}} template should be placed in the first section out of the following that exists on the given article: "Media," "Appearances," "Sources", "Notes and references," and finally "External links."

Vote #10: Concept art linkage
Something else that's been tossed around lately has been the linkage of concept art categories, as opposed to us uploading concept art wholesale from art books and the lot. This vote is for the creation of a new template like Mediacat that will be placed after the Mediacat, and the following text:
- For articles on media and real-world attractions that have art books dedicated to that media, the image category for the art book may also be linked to via the {{Conceptcat}} template, which should be placed below the {{Mediacat}} template. Additionally, video games, films, and television series that have significant concept art and a dedicated subcategory of Category:Concept art images may link to that category with the {{Conceptcat}} template.

- Articles on individual works that have had multiple covers released should include a Cover gallery subsection with all available covers, including the infobox image and any unlettered or pre-release versions, in a gallery with appropriate captions. Cover images should be ordered in order of release, with the main cover first, and unlettered versions listed immediately after the lettered version, while preliminary or working title covers should be listed last.
