Part 1

With the launch of our YouTube channel, I want to formally propose we adopt this (I did jump the gun on this, apologies folks, I should have done this part first), and add a YouTube section to our Social Media Team. The purview of this YouTube channel would be to showcase audible versions of our status articles, with the goal of expanding our accessibility, as well as a place to post any interviews that we do (such as the one I'm doing with the Kiner brothers on August 31st). This would fall under the jurisdiction of our Social Media Team, with anything beyond that initial scope (such as showcasing our reactions to things) requiring community consensus to implement. Discussion about those not on the Social Media Team taking part in recordings would be wholly at the discretion of the Social Media Team.

Part 2

As we formally abolished spoken articles at the Mofference on July 25, 2020, I also propose we overturn that decision, which per policy will require more than 16 votes, and instead include links to the videos exclusively from our YouTube channel, and propose linking to these in the Top template of the relevant article (by this I mean the article the video is a recording of). Cade has already created a way to do this, an example of which can be seen here.

This is definitely something people will be interested in, as at the time of this proposal, the channel has already garnered over 400 subscribers, and will help us reach those that may not even know we exist.

  11. I briefly considered opposing this as the reasoning for doing away with recorded versions of articles at that mofference was that it takes one change to the body to make the recording out-of-date, but since this would only be for status articles (and therefore the recordings would be updated if/when the article is reviewed/reduxed) I think it's fine.   14. I think the rule should stay and an exception added. eg "with one exception being the Official Wookieepedia Toutube channel, which may include videos of status articles." (ensuring a link to the channel page and/or the wookieepedia page). This will still ensure nobody statts going off and reading the articles on their own.   • I note this would be for audio versions of status articles because those have undergone the full review process, and are among the best on our site. This would not be used to showcase articles that have not undergone that review process, as accuracy is our goal.
  • Correct me if im wrong but part 2 should be tweaked. Technically this isnt an audio file, so I don't believe it conflicts with that previous decision? Manoof (he/him/his) (talk) 00:39, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
