This proposal, which has a complete description at SH:Moving "Sexes" to "Gender", is brought to you by the collaborative efforts of WookieeProject: Pride. We propose to do two things:

  1. Move Sexes to Gender
  2. Move Sexes/Legends to Gender/Legends

To summarize the primary reasons for these changes: "gender," not "sex," has been the official term since the canon split. In Legends, the use of "sex" steadily decreased and the use of "gender" increased, reflecting the real-world cultural shift towards a more nuanced understanding of gender and sex. Cumulatively, "gender" was used more often.
