This forum proposes the following with regard to Wookieepedia's treatment of its spoiler templates:

1. {{Tl|Majorspoiler}} will be renamed {{Spoiler}} and will remove "MAJOR" from its text. It will now read: Warning! This page contains spoilers from a recently released or soon-to-be-released product. Caution is advised.
   • The relevant section of Wookieepedia:Spoilers detailing this template will now read: This header template is to be used at the tops of articles to indicate that a given article contains spoilers from a certain product.
   • Wookieepedia:Layout Guide#Spoiler tag and Wookieepedia:Layout Guide/Out-of-universe#Spoiler tag will mention both {{Spoiler}} and {{Moviespoiler}} in the examples and will now read: A spoiler tag on an article alerts users to any plot spoilers from new sources. See Wookieepedia:Spoilers for more information.
2. {{Tl|Spoilerstart}} will be deleted.
   • The relevant sections detailing this template in Wookieepedia:Spoilers, Wookieepedia:Layout Guide, and Wookieepedia:Layout Guide/Out-of-universe will be removed.

The rationale for doing so:

• This proposed modification to Template:Majorspoiler is something that has been suggested by several users since at least 2015, and it's a logical one. It's folly to attempt to define what is and isn't a "major" spoiler for the purposes of this template's application. Removing "MAJOR" allows users to apply this template to articles as needed without any such restrictions and eliminates the inaccuracy of the template wording when it's being used on obviously "minor" articles.
• With the wide use of Template:Majorspoiler and Template:Moviespoiler over the past several years, the in-line {{Tl|Spoilerstart}} has fallen into total disuse and is no longer necessary. We no longer denote individual portions of an article that contain spoilers. Rather, it's easier and more effective to just place these centralized header templates at the tops of pages.
