- "Have you ever seen the Forbidden Gardens of Nuswatta? Or perhaps heard the beautiful music of the Cathedral of Winds?"
- ―An excerpt from Maz Kanata's journal
The Forbidden Gardens of Nuswatta was a point of interest[3] located in[2] the Nuswatta system of the Cronese Mandate sector in the Outer Rim Territories.[1] In her journal, pirate Maz Kanata wrote that she had visited the Forbidden Gardens of Nuswatta and that she considered it, alongside the Cathedral of Winds, as one of the most wondrous things she had seen in her life.[3]
Behind the scenes
The Forbidden Gardens of Nuswatta were first mentioned in the 2017 canon replica journal book Forces of Destiny: Tales of Hope & Courage, written by Elizabeth Schaefer.[3] The Forbidden Gardens of Nuswatta originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in Dark Horse Comics one-shot Jabba the Hutt: Betrayal, written by Jim Woodring, illustrated by Art Wetherell,[4] and published on February 1, 1996.[5]

(backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas and a number of maps in the current Star Wars canon (see a list here), stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for the Forbidden Gardens of Nuswatta in relation to the Nuswatta system.
