The Firrerreo were a sentient species[1] that shared their name with the terrestrial astronomical object Firrerre[2] in the Outer Rim Territories.[3] The Jedi Initiate Connis Dav, who was active shortly after the beginning of the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems[1] in 22 BBY,[4] was a Firrerreo.[1]
Behind the scenes
- "Firrerreo was a deep cut species suggested by the Story Group team—it might have even been Pablo. I was looking for deep cuts to diversify the Order and I basically ran out so I asked for suggestions."
- ―Mike Chen
The Firrerreo appeared in the current Star Wars canon in the 2022 novel Brotherhood, written by Mike Chen.[1] While drafting Brotherhood, Chen sought to include a diverse range of species in the Jedi Order. At the Lucasfilm Story Group's suggestion, a Firrerreo was included in the novel as a deep cut from the Star Wars Legends continuity.[5] In Legends, the Firrerreo were a Near-Human species from[6] the planet[7] Firrerre.[6] They first appeared in the 1994 novel The Crystal Star, written by Vonda N. McIntyre,[7] and were first pictured in the 1998 reference book The Essential Guide to Planets and Moons, written by Daniel Wallace and illustrated by Brandon McKinney and Scott Kolins.[8]
