The Ring was an astronomical object found within the Anoat sector,[1] a subsector of the Javin sector of[3] the Outer Rim Territories[1] and Western Reaches.[2] It was located inside the Ivax Nebula[4] and was positioned relatively close to the planets Gerrenthum and Nothoiin.[1] The Ring was situated in grid square K-18 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[3]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, the Ring was first shown on a map in the eighteenth issue of the magazine series Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon,[4] which was published around May 6, 2015.[5] It then appeared in Star Wars: Uprising,[1] a canon mobile game developed by Kabam and released on September 10, 2015.[6] Although it did not appear in the game's story missions or dialogue, the Ring was pictured on a map of the Anoat sector, in which Star Wars: Uprising took place.[1]
The Ring was initially created for the Star Wars Legends continuity, in which it was first mentioned in "Galactic Gazetteer: Hoth and the Greater Javin," a 2004 supplement for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game.[7] In 2009, The Essential Atlas established that the Ring was a black dwarf.[8] The Ring's nature was not specified within Build the Millennium Falcon[4] or Star Wars: Uprising.[1]
