Biography

Kiraya Tatara was a humanoid female who worked as a spiritual horticulturist with her sister Thakira Tatara on the planet Olega during the High Republic Era. The pair traveled from the Southern Isles to the island capital Olega City in order to sell exotic seeds and sprigs as street vendors in the city's markets. Kiraya focused on medicinal growing in her greenhouse and supplied balms and oils to local apothecaries and healing houses. Thakira instead concentrated on nutritive plants.[1]

In 132 BBY,[2] the sisters walked together through the streets of Olega City past the Olega Apothecary as the Sith assassin entered the building to meet with her ally Qimir. When Qimir later returned to the building, the two sisters were stood outside at a stall with several other customers. Later that night, Kiraya and Thakira sat together under an awning near the apothecary drinking from bottles[3] as other merchants packed up their stalls for the night[4] in the streets around them.[3]

Personality and traits

Kiraya had light skin and ginger hair with a band of green around her eyes.[1]

Equipment

She and her sister wore matching outfits including a blue dress, a black-patterned brown shirt, a green jacket, and a matching green hood. They both carried brown seed satchels that had been handloomed.[1]

Behind the scenes

Kiraya Tatara appeared in "Revenge / Justice,"[3] the second episode of the live-action Disney+ series Star Wars: The Acolyte, which aired on June 4, 2024.[5] The character was not identified in the episode[3] but was named in the 2025 reference book Star Wars: The Acolyte: The Visual Guide, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo.[1]
