Feenix was located in the D'Aelgoth sector's Feenix system within an intersecting portion of the Mid Rim Territories[1] and the Western Reaches.[2] Situated at the coordinates K-17 on the Standard Galactic Grid, it was represented by the native human Senator Tanner Cadaman in the Galactic Senate of the Galactic Republic. During the Clone Wars, Cadaman was outspokenly critical about Chancellor Sheev Palpatine's wartime leadership and joined around two thousand legislators known as the Delegation of 2,000 in signing the Petition of 2,000 to protest the chancellor's emergency powers.[4] One day after the Republic transitioned into the Galactic Empire, Cadaman and sixty-two other senators involved with the Delegation of 2,000 were arrested under accusations that they had colluded with an alleged Jedi insurgency.[3]
Behind the scenes
Feenix was introduced into the current canon when it was mentioned in the 2017 reference book Star Wars: The Rebel Files, written by Daniel Wallace.[3] Originating in Star Wars Legends continuity, it was first mentioned in "Republic HoloNet News Special Inaugural Edition 16:5:241," a segment of the in-universe HoloNet News feature written by Wallace and Pablo Hidalgo and published in the eighty-forth issue of the Star Wars Insider magazine series[5] on September 26, 2005.[6]
