The escape from Genetia was carried out by the Ro family[3] between around 397 BBY and 387 BBY.[2] On the planet Genetia, members of the Evereni Ro family were attacked in the night by townspeople who believed the family was to blame for their crops failing. Yana Ro's sire was killed in the attack, and Marda Ro's sire fought viciously to ensure his family would escape. Yana and Marda Ro's grandparents were also killed in the attack. Yana and Marda's mothers escaped with the two girls after killing a family of Theelins and taking their ship.[1]
