Marda Ro's mother

The mother of Marda Ro was an Evereni female who escaped an attack against their family on the planet Genetia, the townspeople attacking the family because they believed they were the reason their crops had failed. They and Yana Ro's mother killed a family of Theelins to take their starship and escape the planet. They stayed on the ship until the life-support systems began to fail and left them hungry and cold. Their ship was then towed by the Hutt Clan to Nar Shaddaa, where the Hutts attempted to sell them into slavery. However, the cult known as the Path of the Open Hand paid for their release and they and her family escaped to the planet Dalna, where they lived as members of the Path at the cult's compound on the planet. Marda's mother taught Marda how to say or avoid a goodbye, and then they and Yana's mother left, leaving Marda and Yana with the Path. Marda later believed that their mothers had wanted them to stay together.^[1]
