Delaya was a location[5] in the Alderaan system,[3] a star system in the Alderaan sector of the Core Worlds[1] and the Interior.[2] Like the nearby[5] planet Alderaan and the rest of the system, Delaya was situated along the Commenor Run hyperspace route,[4] and was situated in grid square M-10 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1]

In 1 BBY,[6] Belaya Rist, the Chief Executive Officer of CryonCorp and a Rebel Alliance sympathizer, witnessed the destruction of Alderaan from Delaya. In the aftermath of Alderaan's destruction, Rist invited the Alliance to hijack several shipments of her company's low-feedback scanners.[5]

Behind the scenes

Delaya was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon by the 2016 sourcebook Forged in Battle, a supplement to Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars: Age of Rebellion roleplaying game system.[5]

In the Star Wars Legends continuity, Delaya was a planet in the Alderaan system.[7] It was first mentioned in Galaxy Guide 3: The Empire Strikes Back, a 1989 roleplaying supplement authored by Michael Stern for use with West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[8] Delaya then made its first appearance in the 1998 video game Star Wars: Rebellion.[9]
