Dave Chapman is an English puppeteer and actor who worked as one of the two performers for BB-8 in Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, and reprised his role for Star Wars: Episode VIII.[1] He served as the principle performer for Proxima in Solo: A Star Wars Story, and also portrayed a Mimban guard.[2]

During production of the Star Wars: Andor television series, the droid B2EMO's dialogue was originally going to be rerecorded by an actor.[3] Writer and executive producer[4] Tony Gilroy watched a long list of audition pieces for the role until his brother, John Gilroy, decided he likes Chapman's voice the most. The two then called Chapman and told him he would voice the droid, which left him overwhelmed. Chapman also operated B2EMO in the show.[3]
