- "I don't think it was engineered. I've worked in the gene farms. This one looks evolved. Too ugly. This one, on the other hand, looks like she was farmed in the Cytocaves of Nora."
- ―Kuiil, about Grogu and Cara Dune
The Cytocaves of Nora were a location where sentient beings were engineered.[3] They were located in[2] the Mid Rim Territories' Nora system.[1]
Kuiil (leftmost) commented that Cara Dune (second from right) looked like she had been farmed in the Cytocaves of Nora.
In 9 ABY,[4] the bounty hunter Din Djarin, accompanied by[3] the Alderaanian human ex–Rebel Alliance[5] shock trooper Cara Dune, brought the alien youngling Grogu to the Ugnaught moisture farmer Kuiil on[3] the Outer Rim Territories planet Arvala-7.[5] Kuiil, who had been employed by the Galactic Empire as an indentured laborer and had worked in gene farms, noted that Grogu, whom[3] he[5] had met previously, had a too "evolved" and "ugly" appearance to have been genetically engineered. He then contrasted the statement by claiming that Dune looked like she had been farmed in the Cytocaves of Nora, to which the ex-shock trooper responded with a slight smile.[3]
Behind the scenes
The Cytocaves of Nora were first mentioned in "Chapter 7: The Reckoning,"[3] the seventh episode of the Disney+ television show Star Wars: The Mandalorian's first season. The episode aired on December 18, 2019.[6]

(backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas and a number of maps in the current Star Wars canon (see a list here), stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for the Cytocaves of Nora in relation to the Nora system.
