Crunchies^[2] were a type of pebble-sized cereal that was edible to humans. Blue and purple in color, the spherical treats could be served in bowls of blue milk. Former Preox-Morlana Deputy Inspector Syril Karn was given crunchies by his mother in 5 BBY after he was let go from Pre-Mor Enforcement. Karn at first refrained from consuming the dish, instead plucking one of the crunchies from his milk and giving it a thorough inspection. Eventually, however, Karn ate his crunchies.^[1]

Crunchies first appeared in "The Axe Forgets," the fifth episode of the Disney+ television series Star Wars: Andor.^[1] Although unnamed in dialogue, they are identified in both the episode's script^[2] and descriptive audio.^[4]

The cereal box was designed by^[5] graphic designer^[6] Barry Gingell, who created several prototypes made out of cardboard to get the flap right, before adding a stripe and a window.^[5] Set dec advanced prop modeler^[6] Holly Martin then created the box from styrene.^[5] The cereal pieces used are the blue and purple pieces from the real-life cereal Trix Trolls World Tour with Marshmallows.^[7] Prop master Martyn Doust viewed the cereal as a very mundane, everyday piece of life. He added a bowl and spoon, which he considered the basic parts of cereal.^[8] Before filming, the props department asked Syril Karn's actor, Kyle Soller, if there was anything he did not eat, and he replied there was not. They then showed him the cereal, which he thought looked like "Star Wars Cocoa Puffs." Soller said the cereal was surprisingly delicious and tasted like "dreams and unicorns."^[3]
