The Ciaox Verish system was located in the Inner Rim Territories. The Galactic Empire's 204th Imperial Fighter Wing stopped in the star system on its way to the planet Chadawa in 5 ABY. The New Republic refitted Star Destroyer Deliverance tracked the Imperial fighter wing to the system and launched an attack, part of its starfighter wing being able to engage the 204th before the Imperial starships escaped.
Description
The Ciaox Verith system was a star system[3] located within the Croynar sector in an intersecting portion of the Inner Rim Territories[1] and the Trailing Sectors,[2] situated at the coordinates M-14 on the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] A gas giant orbited in the system.[3]
History
- "Lark? What happened?"
"They jumped to lightspeed. Couldn't close fast enough to stop them."
"What happened?"
"One TIE destroyed. One of ours lost, too. Lieutenant T'oknell. I think he was surprised." - ―Syndulla and Wyl Lark
The 204th Imperial Fighter Wing stopped in the Ciaox Verith system while traveling between Fedovoi End and Chadawa.
In 5 ABY,[4] the Galactic Empire's 204th Imperial Fighter Wing stopped in the Ciaox Verith system on its journey between[3] the Croynar sector[1] worlds of Fedovoi End and Chadawa of the Croynar sector. While the 204th ran a combat drill above a gas giant, the New Republic refitted Star Destroyer Deliverance arrived, having followed a communications signal burst from the 204th's bulk freighter Yadeez that had been orchestrated by Yrica Quell, a member of the 204th who was trying to sabotage the unit.[3]
The Deliverance, commanded by General Hera Syndulla, had exited hyperspace in the midst of a jade-green plasma storm but nevertheless found the 204th by using its scanners. Part of the Deliverance's starfighter wing—Starfighter Commander Wyl Lark and the X-wing starfighters of Flare Squadron—moved in and engaged the Imperial fighter wing while the refitted Star Destroyer rushed to reach firing range and deploy the rest of its starfighter wing. One 204th TIE was destroyed and Lieutenant Lourgh T'oknell of Flare Squadron was killed before the 204th's fighters were recalled to the Yadeez and the Imperial fighter wing's starships escaped into hyperspace. The Deliverance and its wing pursued the Imperial unit across other systems in the Croynar sector, tracking it from more comm bursts.[3]

Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com (article) (backup link) places both worlds in the Inner Rim Territories, in the area of space Star Wars: The Galactic Explorer's Guide identifies as Trailing Sectors. Therefore, it can be deduced that the Ciaox Verith system was also located in those regions.

- ↑ The events of Victory's Price: An Alphabet Squadron Novel begin after the Cerberon system campaign, and the novel also features the Battle of Jakku at the end of its three main sections. Since Star Wars: Timelines dates both of those conflicts to 5 ABY, the main events of Victory's Price must therefore be set in that year.
