Chief gunnery officer, or Gunnery Chief, was an assignment aboard certain Imperial warships, including Star Destroyers. They acted as the gunnery captain's direct subordinate.[1] Around 0 BBY,[3] Hija held that position aboard the Imperial I-class Star Destroyer Devastator.[1] Varnillian also served as a Gunnery Chief at some point.[4]
In 34 ABY,[3] Peera Maso also held the position aboard the First Order Mega-class Star Dreadnought Supremacy.[2]
