Varnillian

Varnillian was an Imperial weapons technician who held the position of Gunnery Chief within the armed forces of the Galactic Empire. At one point during her career, Varnillian served in a control room. The human had blonde hair, gray eyes, and light skin,^[1] and wore an Imperial gunner's uniform consisting of a black tunic over a black long-sleeved shirt, a black belt with a silver officer's disk on its buckle, and black gloves.^[2]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, Varnillian was created for^[1] the 2020^[3] Onager-class Star Destroyer Expansion Pack of Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars: Armada tactical miniatures game. Prior to the expansion's release, Varnillian was mentioned in "The Siege Breaker," a promotional article published on the Fantasy Flight Games website on November 25, 2019.^[1] Tiziano Baracchi, who provided an illustration of Varnillian for the expansion, used the name "Niclara Varnillian" in an art showcase.^[2]

Niclara Varnillian was originally introduced in the Star Wars Legends continuity, appearing in the "Wanted by Cracken" segment of the November 1995 eighth issue of West End Games' Star Wars Adventure Journal magazine. The segment was written by Craig Robert Carey and illustrated by Robert Duchlinski.^[4]
