Gunnery captain was an assignment aboard certain Imperial warships, including Star Destroyers. The officer commanded a number of gunnery officers, including the chief gunnery officer. The gunnery captain was also one of the few officers on board of a ship with enough authority to request an immediate mid-cruise extra-vehicular-armament inspection. Around 0 BBY, Bolvan held that position aboard the Imperial I-class Star Destroyer Devastator.[1]
