Chalcedon was a terrestrial planet[3] located in the Chalcedon system in the Tashtor sector of the Mid Rim, in grid square I-16 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] Located on the Great Gran Run between Cerea and Takodana, it was the center of the galactic slave trade.[2] Chalcedon also housed a shadowport and was marked on a map included by the former pirate Queen Maz Kanata in the book that became known as the Smuggler's Guide. The slavemaster Krastic Tarta filled his ship, the Arkanian Dawn, with slaves that he intended to sell on Chalcedon, but upon landing at the Cyklo market the slaves staged a revolt and seized the ship instead.[3]
