"Hello."
―Jod Na Nawood to the Xi'Dec and other bystanders[1]

Bubbles was an Xi'Dec present on the planet Lanupa[1] around 9 ABY.[2] They were standing at the entry to[1] Skull Ridge Mountain Hotel & Spa[3] beside a few fellows, including[1] a female[4] hotelier, when former pirate Captain Jod Na Nawood emerged from an access hatch embedded in the landing path. Bubbles and the other bystanders were greeted by[1] the man,[5] who at the same time failed to realize the hotel was under pirate attack. Gunter, one of the pirate invaders, approached Jod from behind and ensured his quick apprehension.[1]

Bubbles had light-blue eyes and white hair and skin. A member of the[1] insectoidan[6] Xi'Dec species, they had four upper limbs[1] and engorged egg sacs on their belly.[6]

Behind the scenes

Bubbles first appeared in "Zero Friends Again," the fifth episode of the live-action Disney+ show Star Wars: Skeleton Crew,[1] which was aired on December 31, 2024.[7] The character later appeared in the official promotional clip of the episode,[8] in addition to having a dedicated slide in the episode's StarWars.com trivia gallery.[9] Her performance artist for the show was Robin Walsh.[1] While not clear within the episode, fellow performance artist Jasper Anderson noted which alien was Bubbles in an Instagram post.[10]

  2. Star Wars: Timelines dates the events of "Chapter 1: The Mandalorian" of The Mandalorian Season One to 9 ABY. In addition, SWInsider "A Certain Point of View" — Star Wars Insider 228 also dates "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" to nine years after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, which corresponds to 9 ABY per Timelines. "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" takes place after the conflict on Mandalore, which is the main event depicted in "Chapter 23: The Spies" and "Chapter 24: The Return," the final two episodes of The Mandalorian Season Three. Therefore, Seasons One through Three of Star Wars: The Mandalorian must all be set in 9 ABY as well. StarWars.com SWCA 2022: 20 Highlights from Lucasfilm's Studio Showcase on StarWars.com (backup link) states that Star Wars: Skeleton Crew takes place in the same timeframe as Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Star Wars: Ahsoka—the latter of which can also be dated to 9 ABY following the reasoning here. As such, Skeleton Crew must take place around 9 ABY as well.
