- «Well, that's a good marker of civilization. Most people don't waste effort running mines until everyone's got food and shelter.»
«If that's the case, this place must be swimming in borjory sauce. […]» - ―Senior Captain Kiwu'tro'owmis and Senior Warrior Yopring
Borjory sauce was a type of sauce known to the Chiss species.[1] Around 18 BBY,[2] Senior Warrior Yopring, who served aboard the Chiss Ascendancy Nightdragon man-of-war Vigilant, was sent to explore the Unknown Regions planet Sunrise. While investigating the world's surface, Yopring located an active mine. The Vigilant's first officer, Senior Captain Kiwu'tro'owmis, core name "Wutroow," believed that mines were not run unless their owners' people had access to food and homes. Yopring then stated that if so, Sunrise had to be filled with borjory sauce.[1]
Behind the scenes
The borjory sauce was mentioned in the 2021 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Greater Good, the second installment in Timothy Zahn's Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy.[1]
