Boar-wolves,[4] also known as borras,[5] were non-sentient, bristle-backed creatures that lived on Endor,[1] a forested moon that orbited the planet of the same name.[6] Boar-wolves had thick hair, humped backs, and and two tusks.[2]
They were killed for their meat by the Ewoks, a species of diminutive sentients native to Endor. Ewok hunting parties who managed to bring back boar-wolf meat were considered to have been lucky. Some Ewoks also crafted knives from boar-wolf teeth.[4] Although boar-wolves could be dangerous, they were domesticated by the semi-sentient Gorax, who would care for the young after killing their mother.[2]
