- "Deep space signal surveyor
Location: Belkadan" - ―A job listing
Belkadan was a celestial body[3] located in the Belkadan system of the Dalonbian sector, a part of the Outer Rim Territories[1] and the New Territories.[2] It was situated in grid square L-1 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] Around 10 BBY,[4] a viewscreen in Sornah's Garage on[3] the Mid Rim planet[5] Malastare featured a job listing for a deep space signal surveyor based at Belkadan.[3]
Behind the scenes
Belkadan's name was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon on a galactic map in Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game, a 2016 Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars Roleplaying boxed set.[6] The 2025 virtual reality video game Star Wars: Beyond Victory - A Mixed Reality Playset,[3] developed by Industrial Light & Magic and published by Disney Electronic Content,[7] was the first to describe it as a distinct celestial body.[3]
In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the planet Belkadan first appeared in Vector Prime, a 1999 novel authored by R. A. Salvatore as the first entry of the Star Wars: The New Jedi Order series.[8] It was first visually depicted in an illustration by Mikael Noguchi that was used on the cover of the eighth issue of the Star Wars Gamer magazine,[9][10] published by Wizards of the Coast on December 21, 2001.[11]
