The Maelstrom was the lead Maelstrom-class battle cruiser of the Galactic Republic's navy in the time of the Clone Wars,[1] which took place between 22 BBY and 19 BBY.[2] Under the command of Jedi General Darrus Jeht, the battlecruiser served with distinction in the Battle of Kromus and the Battle of Cularin during the war.[1]

Behind the scenes

In the canon continuity, the Maelstrom was introduced in the Star Wars Roleplaying sourcebook Lead by Example, which was published by Fantasy Flight Games in 2016 for the Star Wars: Age of Rebellion roleplaying game system.[1] In Star Wars Legends, the Maelstrom first appeared in "Marching Orders," a short story written by August Hahn and Cynthia Hahn as a supplement to Living Force, a roleplaying campaign created by Wizards of the Coast. The story was published on Wizards.com on July 27, 2005.[3]
