- "It's over. Sobrik is free. I didn't think I'd live to see it."
- ―Beke Talrott
The Battle for Sobrik was fought during the later stages of the Battle of Balmorra and was part of the Galactic Republic's effort to liberate the planet from the control of the Sith Empire.
Prelude
The city of Sobrik served as the secondary headquarters of the Sith Empires occupation of Balmorra. It was protected by a powerful energy shield which prevented non-friendly ships from entering its airspace. Despite this the Balmorran resistance, led by Beke Talrott and his ally within the Empire-aligned Balmorran militia, Colonel Marric, decided the best way to take over the city was by landing forces directly in its spaceport.[1]
The city of Sobrik.
To accomplish this, the resistance had acquired a prototype Troida Disruptor, which could deactivate the energy shield long enough, to land its soldiers inside the spaceport, using an old Republic shuttle. As the Troida Disruptor required a large amount of energy, the Sobrik power grid was attacked first. With the help of a Republic operative, sent by Commander Cassius Madine, sufficient power was siphoned from the grid and the Troida Disruptor activated.[1]
The Battle
With Sobriks shield momentarily disrupted, the resistance landed its transport[5] inside the cities spaceport and began the attack. Meanwhile the Republic operative made their way into Sobrik along the main road, distracting the defenders and thinning their ranks.[3] The operative would attempt to meet up with the resistance forces inside the spaceport, killing City Commander Tyrus and the Mandalorian Berardesco in the process.[4] When they reached Hangar 61 however, Marrics betrayal of the resistance became evident, as the shuttle and all resistance fighters had been killed by the Colonel and his troops, who had awaited them inside.[3]
Another fight broke out and Colonel Marric would be defeated, but spared. Despite the Colonels best efforts, Sobriks defenses were broken and a battalion sent by Commander Madine later secured the city properly.[3]

STAR WARS: The Old Republic - Question ! :) - Page 3 on The Old Republic's official website (backup link) places Star Wars: The Old Republic's base game content about ten to twelve years after the signing of the Treaty of Coruscant, which is dated to 3653 BBY by Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia. The Prologue and Act I of the class storylines are assumed to take place in 3643 BBY, as they are roughly concurrent to each other and the Jedi Knight Act I storyline is dated to 3643 BBY by The Old Republic — The Lost Suns 2. Additionally,
Forums: Dear Story Team, What Year Are We Currently In? on The Old Republic's official website (backup link) and Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia establish that the Battle of Ilum and the end of Act III for the class stories occur in 3640 BBY. Additionally, Act II for all classes, while featuring conflict between the two factions, occurs prior to the official collapse of the Treaty of Coruscant, which The Old Republic: Annihilation places in the middle of 3641 BBY. Taken together, this means that base game content spans from 3643 BBY to 3640 BBY, and the class storylines extend over this period, this article assumes that Act II takes place within 3642 BBY and the first half of 3641 BBY.

- ↑ The shuttle used by the resistance is described as an "old Republic model" and visually identical to both the Rendaran-class and Fortitude-class. As the former is the older of the two, it is the most likely candidate.
