The Baleria system was a star system located in the Core Worlds[1] and the Interior.[2] It was situated in grid square M-12 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] It was the origin point[3] of a type of pie, Balarian pie.[4]

Behind the scenes

"Valeria indeed came from the plot summary mentioned; I suspect I checked it shortly after the episode aired, recorded it in my notes and never saw the correction. May delete it or it may live on."
―Jason Fry[5]

The Baleria system was introduced as the Valeria system in "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published with the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[6] on June 24, 2025. Both works were authored by Jason Fry.[7] Based on a misspelling, Fry created the system to serve as the origin point of[5] Balarian pie, introduced via mention in "Dangerous Business,"[8] the thirteenth[9] episode of the first season of the animated television series Star Wars Resistance. The episode aired on January 20, 2019.[10]

Following the appendix's release, Fry worked with contributors from the free-to-edit, unofficial online Star Wars encyclopedia known as Wookieepedia to confirm the intended origins of several star systems created for the appendix. One such system was the Baleria system—listed in the appendix's first version as Valeria system—which the author confirmed originated from[5] a January 21, 2019 revision of the plot summary for "Dangerous Business" on Wookieepedia, which misspelled Balarian pie as "Valerian pie."[11] He further clarified that he had likely checked the plot summary shortly after it was posted and never updated his notes, indicating that the Valeria system may be removed from future versions of the appendix or may continue to remain present.[5] On the October 13, 2025,[12] update to the appendix, the listing was renamed to the Balaria system.[12]
