"Bottle opener for Azuran steam spirit. Given to me by a rather lovely sommelier on Bothsoliman."
―Lando Calrissian, to Luke Skywalker — 20?cb=20250116042720 ▶️ (file info)[3]

Azuran steam spirit was a beverage kept in a bottle[3] that originated from[1] the Azura system in the Outer Rim.[2] By 21 ABY,[4] the human Lando Calrissian had been given a bottle opener for Azuran steam spirit by a sommelier on[3] the Mid Rim[5] astronomical object Bothsoliman.[3] That year,[4] after Calrissian used the bottle opener to escape capture from bounty hunters on[3] the Outer Rim[6] planet Torrenoteer Minor, he showed it to his companion—Jedi Master Luke Skywalker—and informed him that the bottle opener was for Azuran steam spirit.[3]

Behind the scenes

Azuran steam spirit was mentioned in Shadow of the Sith, a 2022 novel by Adam Christopher.[3]

  1. 1.0 1.1 The Essential Atlas and Galactic Cartography: Official Discussion (post by jasonfry) on the Jedi Council Forums' Literature board (December 11, 2007): "I wouldn't get your hopes up re alien homeworlds, beyond simple stuff like the Planetnamian species getting a Planetnamia on the map or things Dan and I can account for with a relatively quick reference." (backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas and a number of maps in the current Star Wars canon (see a list here), stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for Azuran steam spirit in relation to Azura system.
