An axe (alternatively spelled ax) was a melee weapon that consisted of a heavy edged head fixed to a handle.[1] Some axes had two blades.[4] Although regular axes were intimidating weapons in themselves, their lethality and cutting ability could be increased by the addition of a vibration generator, which produced a variant known as a vibro-ax.[5]

During the time of the First Order, stormtroopers who were assigned the duty of serving as executioner troopers used the BL-155 Laser ax for capital punishment via beheading.[6]
