Asyrphus was a terrestrial astronomical object[2] located in the Perkell sector's Asyrphus system in the Mid Rim Territories, situated at the coordinates Q-7 on the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] The Rebel Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry were deployed there[2] at some point between 1 BBY and 3 ABY.[3] On Asyrphus, the company faced a bombardment which massacred many of its troopers, including a comm tech and her droid. Hazram Namir, a soldier in the 61st who knew the technician, remembered the massacre on Asyrphus in his mind when recalling her[2] in 3 ABY,[3] and later that year when he compared the losses the 61st took on Asyrphus to the company's recent losses in its command structure.[2]
Behind the scenes
Asyrphus was mentioned in the 2015 novel Battlefront: Twilight Company, written by Alexander Freed.[2]

- ↑ 3.0 3.1 Star Wars: Timelines dates the main events of Battlefront: Twilight Company, including the mentioned of the massacre at Asyrphus, to 3 ABY. In the novel, Hazram Namir, who was present for the massacre, joined the 61st Mobile Infantry shortly after the Battle of the Tower, which occurs nineteen years after the Clone Wars in the novel, and before the Battle of Yavin. Since Star Wars: Timelines places the end of the war in 19 BBY, the massacre at Asyrphus must have occurred sometime between 1 BBY and 3 ABY.
