Astenban was a moon[2] in the Outer Rim Seswenna sector[1] that was near the planet Eriadu, as well as near the main hyperspace route of[2] the Outer Rim Inugg system[3] planet Banchii. During the High Republic Era, the Nihil pirates planned to use the moon as a base in order to launch attacks on Banchii and other planets in the region from once it fell within its Occlusion Zone. To prevent the Nihil from doing so, Jedi Master Sav Malagán, the droid ZZ-10, and the Banchiian Shosho went on a mission to Astenban. While the three were on the moon, Astenban was swallowed up by the Occlusion Zone and Nihil forces led by the scientist Niv Drendow Apruk quickly invaded the moon. After encountering the pirates, Shosho befriended a native Force-sensitive creature known as Zimtok. After Malagán was forced to destroy the Nihil base, the Nihil captured Zimtok, though Shosho followed her onto the Nihil's ship so he could save her. Malagán and ZZ-10 then left the moon and returned to Banchii.[2]
