"It felt like my mother was dying in front of me. And I was the one killing her. It couldn't have been real, but it felt real. I have never felt so much fear in my life. It didn't make sense. I never even knew my mother! But it was so horrible."
―Aida Forte, to Crieghton Sun[1]

A female individual was the mother of the Kadas'sa'Nikto Jedi Knight Aida Forte.[1] In 382 BBY,[2] when Forte and Jedi Master Creighton Sun traveled to[1] the Outer Rim[3] planet Dalna to investigate the Path of the Open Hand cult, they witnessed a Teevan man being brought before the Mother and the Leveler, the Path's leader and a creature which fed on Force-sensitives, respectively. As the Leveler consumed the Teevan, the two Jedi also became overwhelmed by fear.[1]

After it was over, Forte compared the feeling of the incident to her killing her own mother. The Jedi Knight then noted she had not felt as much fear before as she had during the ordeal, and even though it felt real, it could not have been. Forte then concluded that the experience was horrible, and as she did not know her mother, it would not have made any sense.[1]

Behind the scenes

Aida Forte's mother was mentioned in Cataclysm, a novel written by Lydia Kang and published in 2023 as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase II.[4]
