Abhean was an astronomical object[4] located in the Abhean system of the Maldrood sector,[3] a part of the Mid Rim Territories[1] and the Slice.[2] It lay in grid square R-7 of the Standard Galactic Grid,[1] and the super-hyperroute[5] known as the Perlemian Trade Route connected it to the Besh Gorgon and Shantipole systems.[1]

Behind the scenes

Abhean's name was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon on a galactic map in Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game, a 2016 Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars Roleplaying boxed set.[1] It was then identified as a distinct celestial body in the January 31, 2017 StarWars.com article "Where in the Galaxy Are the Worlds of Rogue One?" by Mark Newbold.[4] The planet Abhean[6] was originally introduced in the Star Wars Legends continuity in the 2002 Power of the Jedi Sourcebook, which was published by Wizards of the Coast for use with the Star Wars Roleplaying Game.[7]
