2X-7KPR ("Tooex") was a green domed KPR security droid operational during the Galactic Civil War. It was capable of monitoring floodlights and perimeter sensors as well as maintaining security devices. The droid was originally owned by Jabba the Hutt until it was stolen,[1] ending up in the possession of the Jawa tribe led by Nebit on the planet Tatooine.[2]
In 0 BBY,[3] Nebit's tribe stopped at the Lars homestead.[4] Though the droid's sensor package still worked at the time, its treads were faulty and needed the Jawas help to move.[2] 2X-7KPR was offered for sale to the moisture farmer Owen Lars. Lars passed on 2X-7KPR, eventually settling on the purchase of C-3PO and R2-D2.[4]
