1977 Topps Star Wars Series 3

1977 Topps Star Wars Series 3 was a trading card set released by Topps in 1977.[1]

The set was based on Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and featured stills from the film, promotional photos and behind the scenes photos, all within a yellow border. Backs of the cards featured an "Official Description" theme describing characters or vehicles, or included a portion of a larger image that could be pieced together with other cards like a puzzle. A sub-set of sticker cards was included.[1]

Card numbering in the set continued from the previous series. Two more series of the set followed.[1]

Continuity

Cards 189 and 191 feature images from the deleted scene of Luke repairing a moisture vaporator on Tatooine.[3] Grand Moff Tarkin is referred to as Governor of the Imperial Outlands (mostly known later as the Outer Rim Territories), and lightsabers are called "light sabers."
