Respawn Entertainment is an Electronic Arts video game development studio. They created Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and Jedi: Survivor and are currently working on Star Wars Zero Company in collaboration with Bit Reactor and an untitled sequel to Jedi Survivor.
History
Respawn Entertainment was founded on April 12, 2010, as part of EA Partners,[3] by Jason West and Vince Zampella, the co-founders of Infinity Ward (a studio well known for the Call of Duty series), after they were fired by Infinity Ward's parent company, Activision.[1] In November 2017, the studio was bought by Electronic Arts.[2] The studio created the games Titanfall (2014) and Apex Legends (2019).
In 2016, it was announced that the studio was working on a third-person Star Wars game.[4] Its title, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, was revealed during E3 2018.[5] It was released on November 15, 2019.[6]
On January 25, 2022, it was announced that Respawn was working on three different video games: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor the sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order, a strategy game in collaboration with Bit Reactor, and a first-person shooter game.[7] On February 28, 2024, it was announced that the first-person shooter project was canceled.[8] On April 14, 2025,[9] the strategy game was first revealed as Star Wars Zero Company, which is to be released in 2026.[10]
An untitled sequel to Jedi Survivor is also currently in development.[11]
