- "'Go, my minions and fetch me three hundred Yathik acid slugs!' That kind of thing."
- ―Nakari Kelen imitating her father
Yathik acid slugs were a type of slug[1] originating from the Yathik system[2] in the Expansion Region.[3] In 0 ABY,[4] the human rebel Nakari Kelen, when imitating her father, Fayet Kelen, pretended to order a collection crew to travel to a planet and bring back three hundred acid slugs.[1]
Behind the scenes
Yathik acid slugs were mentioned in the 2015 novel Heir to the Jedi, written by Kevin Hearne.[1]

(backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas and a number of maps in the current Star Wars canon (see a list here), stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. This article treats the Yathik system as the location of one such homeworld with regard to the Yathik acid slug species.
