Yarzion Vell's species

Although this article is based on canonical information, the actual name of this subject is pure conjecture.

The Jedi Yarzion Vell was a member of a sentient species which could have red or green skin, red eyes, black hair, and pointed ears. When Vell returned to his home planet, he had a skin-scribe of the same species tattoo him with runes from his ancestor's language that spelled the name of his greatest teacher—his Jedi Master, Lulad—in accordance with the planet's tradition.^[1]

Behind the scenes

Yarzion's Vell species appeared in the one-shot comic The Acolyte - Kelnacca 1, written by Cavan Scott, illustrated by Marika Cresta,^[1] and published by Marvel Comics on September 4, 2024.^[2] Before the comic's release, the species was first pictured at the Lucasfilm panel at San Diego Comic-Con on July 26 of that year.^[3]
