  1. I'm beyond thrilled to do this. As a former EC, Fan has all the skills needed to make an exceptional member of the team. I deeply respect his commitment to changing and improving as a person in his time away from us, and it's high time we welcome him back. People grow and change—and Fan's really one of the nicest people I know. The 'boards are always looking for cordial, experienced editors to join the ranks. Now that he's wanting to come back and join us, I see no reason to delay the nomination. I think it's also been long enough to leave the past in the past and forgive; second chances are such a beautiful thing.
