- Without intending to step on the toes of the other ongoing nomination, I am pleased to present Tommy's name for adminship consideration at this time as well. I was hoping to nominate Tommy last week, but someone beat me to the punch :P, so I thought I would wait a week out of respect before going ahead with this one. We all know Tommy very well from the time he's spent here on Wookieepedia, and most of us can recite his merits and deeds just as well as I can, and those who can know as well as I that this paragraph could go on for a while, so I'll try to keep this as a brief as possible. One of my most personally gratifying experiences on Wookieepedia is watching users grow from rough lumps of raw material into productive gems. I've watched Tommy develop and refine himself both as an editor and as an individual for almost four years now, and he's made me proud as a fellow community member and as a friend. Tommy has become a living model of the perfect Wookieepedian that I wish more new users would try to emulate. He has become an expert of "How We Do Things Around Here" both in terms of editing articles and interacting with those around him. Tommy handles himself with maturity and humility when engaging in debates with other users, and when he suspects he needs further guidance, he never hesitates to ask for advice from those around him. He is constantly ready and willing to help guide and train new users in all things Wook, demonstrating patience and respected seniority when needed, and many look to him to set the example. I find him to be one of the more reasonably mild-mannered, level-headed users to look to when I or others become too hot-headed over something, but he's also not afraid to lay down the hammer when the situation calls for it. That, in a nutshell, is what I consider to be perfect leadership and administrator material here on Wookieepedia. With all respect to the other nomination, I believe Tommy may in fact be the most deserving candidate right now, and there are few whom I would trust with additional responsibility more than this man. - Entirely per above. JangFett (Talk) 22:57, July 5, 2011 (UTC)
- I was actually surprised when I learned Tommy wasn't already an Admin. However, I'm not surprised that he is now nominated. He definitely deserves this. Kilson(Let's have a chat) 23:04, July 5, 2011 (UTC)
- Great candidate. This is overdue. Chack Jadson (Talk) 23:05, July 5, 2011 (UTC)
- I've worked closely with Tommy almost since I joined the site in early 2009. In that time, I've come to know him as a very friendly person. He has many FAs and GAs to his name and is a member of the Inquisitorius, yet remains humble, never letting all of that go to his head. When I copy-edit his articles, I rarely have to question or object to much (unless it's some monster-sized article like Lumiya that I'm working on right now :P), but when I do, he is always very nice and polite about it, and just overall comes off as (in Tope's words) "perfect [...] administrator material". To echo those above me, this is indeed overdue. :) Master Jonathan — Jedi Council Chambers Tuesday, July 5, 2011, 23:34 UTC
- Per all of what Tope said in his nomination comment. Tommy is a fantastic editor and a leader on the site. Grunny (talk) 23:57, July 5, 2011 (UTC)

- Most definitely. Tommy goes out of his way to help users grow here and lend a helping hand; and most importantly, he's always had the best interests of the Wook first and foremost at heart. Per Tope and Floyd 100%. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 02:59, July 7, 2011 (UTC)
- Honestly, I'm surprised he wasn't nominated sooner. He's definitely admin material. Trak Nar Ramble on 07:35, July 7, 2011 (UTC)
- Tommy is, hands down, one of the most impressive users I've had the privilege of interacting with on this wiki. We've had times of great cooperation, but also plenty of disagreements, and those disagreements are precisely why I know he is right for an admin position. He handles issues with class and fairness, and always works to set an example. And to top it all off, he's a great writer, an active reviewer, and an in inspiration (for me, at least) when it comes to WookieeProject leadership. I'm very glad to give him my vote. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 08:50, July 7, 2011 (UTC)
- Although I'm wondering if he'll actually have any time to be an admin, given Lumiya's impending FA nomination... But yeah, per above. Grand Moff Tranner

03:46, July 9, 2011 (UTC) - Tommy has been a part of this wiki since mid-2007, and that is much longer than some who have since reached admin status. I wish we had more long term users with good track records like him. -- Riffsyphon1024 05:35, July 9, 2011 (UTC)

Optional candidate Q&A
- Why do you want to become an administrator?
- I guess I never really thought about becoming one. I've been here for a bit and hadn't been made one yet, so it wasn't really on my mind. But if additional sysop tools will help me serve the site more efficiently, which I think they will, then I'm all for it.
- In your opinion, what is the role of an administrator?
- Administrator is a servant of the community, first and foremost, acting out of necessity in a capacity where registered users are otherwise unable.
- In your view, do administrators hold a technical or political position?
- Technical.
- How do you feel admins should use their power/stand in comparison with other users?
- Impartially, within reason, in the best interests of the community.
- Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- Of your articles or contributions to Wookieepedia, are there any with which you are particularly pleased, and why?
- What sysop chores do you anticipate helping with?
- Deletes of nonsense pages, I don't know, whatever I come across that the other admins haven't already handled.
- How important is it for you to be involved in things such as CT, FA, GA, and other community-centered items that involve discussion and voting?
- I've served the FAN and GAN for much of my time here, and I'll participate in CTs with regard to matters of import.
- Do you think admins performing actions (I.e. deletions, blocks, etc.) for reasons not covered on policy should be sanctioned/punished? If so, how?
- All depends on the situation. Not every one is explicitly accounted for. Good thing there are a number of admins, to effect a measure of checks and balances.
- What is your policy, if any, of welcoming new users?
- Get to'em before SFH does :P In all seriousness though, I like to use the welcome template as often as possible because it directs users who were probably otherwise unfamiliar to policies and guidelines that are essential for satisfactory article editing.
- Should you welcome a new user, do you look at his/her contributions beforehand?
- I sometimes look at the contribs, because often times you can tell what type of editor a noob will be by their track record. In cases where bad-faith edits seem to prevail, it may be more prudent to use other templates that warn said user of their counterproductive behavior.
- What about anonymous IPs?
- I've always been fascinated by productive anon edits. I've never thought about welcoming them, I guess. I kinda equate them to unexplained phenomena. When the opposite is the case, however, the appropriate warning templates are always utilized and the administration notified of what may be a potential problem.
- How would you react if someone undeleted an article you'd mistakenly speedied? Under what circumstances would you consider it appropriate to undelete an article mistakenly speedied by another administrator, if any, and how would you approach this task?
- Most all problems can be resolved through open communication, and I'm confident in the ability of mature beings to find common ground thereby.
- How would you react if your user page was vandalized? Under what circumstances would you block the offender? Is there anything else that you would do in this situation?
- I'd probably laugh.
It's never happened to me before, so it would be interesting to see what they come up with since there isn't much to my page as it is, lol. I guess I'd warn them with penalty of blockage for subsequent offenses.Apparently I'm not immune, although I wish he would have been more creative :P At any rate, I did actually laugh out loud, and requested protection for my page. The offender has since been blocked, thanks Cav!—Tommy 9281 Sunday, July 17, 2011, 15:14 UTC
- I'd probably laugh.
- Under what circumstances would you consider blocking an established user?
- Gross, deliberate negligence and/or violation of policy.
- Would you look at a glass to be half-empty or half-full?
- It's one or the other, that's for certain.
- Do you feel the current blocking policy is too restrictive, not restrictive enough, or OK as it is?
- It serves as a solid basis by which the administration should exercise said authority. But as with everything else, user discretion is advised.
- Have you ever considered becoming a regular visitor to the Wookieepedia IRC chat?
- IRC chat? What's that? Never heard of it.
- How do you feel about people who already have some influence on other Star Wars communities (TheForce.Net, StarWars.com) trying to change policies here?
- I'm willing to entertain anyone whose ideas have genuine merit.
- How many clones do you think fought in the Clone Wars? (Note: You are wrong no matter what answer you give.)
- Enough to fully supply Palpatine's game of toy soldiers.
- Who is the most awesome Jedi of all time? (Note: The only correct answer is Kyle Katarn.)
- Ask me about Sith, and you've got yourself a conversation.
- What's more important to you: consensus or policy?
- Policy.
- Have you had any previous leadership experience (in your community, on the web, etc.)?
- Yes.
- What is your attitude towards users who have quit the site or have been banned, but still continue to attempt to influence the site in any way?
- If they display good faith attempts in participation with the community, I'm all for it.
