  1. Jack of all trades—an Inq, a well-rounded editor, and a friendly member of the community. It's my pleasure to present Braha as a candidate for administrator. His passions here onsite range far and wide (from Mandoverse content, to deep niche projects, and finally to project-spanning masterpieces), showing a wide range of understanding of the current canon. Over time, he's become a great contributor in the last several years and a dear friend to many. Braha displays the qualities every good admin should portray in terms of having a keen eye for moderating site content, a calm demeanor, and helping new editors on Wookieepedia's Discord. In recent times, he's also shown his deep care for the site and its continued commitment to progress. I'm pleased to submit this nomination for the community's consideration and look forward to what he can bring to our team!spookywillowwtalk 20:02, 23 July 2023 (UTC)

  11. Grrr, another British admin of what is allegedly an American site.... ...ahem! What I mean to say is that Braha is very mature, a levelheaded user, well-respected, and a damn good friend. He's taken a minor 2015 game tie-in novel and has spent the past..god, four years now? Five? However long it's been, he's been slowly grinding through it, nominating everything from BTC which is impressive enough on its own even without his litany of other projects and being an active board member, all of which he does while being a full time college student. Vote Braha, vote now Fan26 (Talk) 23:47, 23 July 2023 (UTC)

  19. Braha was one of the first editors I worked alongside with when I came here and there was never a moment he hesitated to be helpful. He's made an impact on me and I see the impact he makes on others. Truly deserving of being an admin. Happy to be nomianted alongside you. 21. An absolutely stellar person who possesses every necessary quality for adminship that I can think of. He is also the only Wookieepedian with a Class 3 primary hyperdrive, which is pretty neat. TanDivoInsignia-SenateMurders Anıl Şerifoğlu (talk) 20:06, 30 July 2023 (UTC)

Optional candidate Q&A
  1. What is the second-best Rebel/N.R. starship? (The best is of course obvious) Fan26 (Talk) 23:47, 23 July 2023 (UTC)
  2. Why do you want to become an administrator?
    • To help keep the community thriving and furthering our joint goal on this site.
  3. In your opinion, what is the role of an administrator?
  4. In your view, do administrators hold a technical or political position?
    • Well both, realistically. Not only are admins given these new sysop tools to carry out special tasks, they're entrusted with those tools and entrusted to be moderators. Having the trust of the community is the naturally political aspect of it, and the position gives them the power to step in on unrest between users. Braha'tok enthusiast Hello there 21:15, 24 July 2023 (UTC)
  5. How do you feel admins should use their power/stand in comparison with other users?
    • What I said above. Admins should be the moderators when they need to be, but should also make sure to not promote the image of a hierarchy, intentionally or unintentionally.
  6. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
    • Over editing, I've generally managed to resolve things pretty fine with other users over matters. Some decisions I'm not always satisfied with but that's life. We're a democratic online community, not real world politics, and that fact has kept me from deeping anything that's over editing. The only time I feel I've ever been stressed and have partaken in arguments is in community conflict, when I chose to counter an argument I strongly disagreed with if I felt that it was about to gain traction.
  7. Of your articles or contributions to Wookieepedia, are there any with which you are particularly pleased, and why?
    • I've covered a lot of different types of projects and stemmed into some pretty fun cross research stuff. But I will always look most fondly over my more longterm projects, ones which will be pretty obvious for any editor that knows me well. I've written up countless articles from Battlefront: Twilight Company to make it a more comprehensive network of info, but more proudly I have spent a lot of time refining the Braha'tok-class gunship article to what it is now, perfecting the coverage of all the info that made me love that ship in the first place. Braha'tok enthusiast Hello there 02:02, 24 July 2023 (UTC)
  8. What sysop chores do you anticipate helping with?
    • I don't have any specific goal of deleting a load of articles or stalking the RC for a new vandal with my block button ready like a hungry tiger. I just want to bolster the available admins to keep the community in peace and be available for any specials tasks users need doing. My way of giving back to the community that's supported me over the years. Braha'tok enthusiast Hello there 21:15, 24 July 2023 (UTC)
  9. How important is it for you to be involved in things such as CT, FA, GA, and other community-centered items that involve discussion and voting?
    • I think it's good to chime in when I'm needed. Obviously I'm already a member of the three reviewboards so it's in my quota to be getting involved in the GA and FA when I can. But for stuff like CTs, I aim to keep my head in and make a point when I feel there is something to be questioned/critiqued.
  10. Do you think admins performing actions (I.e. deletions, blocks, etc.) for reasons not covered on policy should be sanctioned/punished? If so, how?
    • If such action is unjustified, then I feel it should start with a warning, depending on how serious this action actually was. Case-by-case basis, ultimately.
  11. What is your policy, if any, of welcoming new users? Should you welcome a new user, do you look at their contributions beforehand? What about anonymous IPs?
    • Any new user should have equal consideration, and I always check edits from new faces initially to make sure they're not looking to vandalise or add speculation. If someone comes into the Discord having a new Wook account and a thousand questions, it should be our goal to make sure they have all the answers they need to dip their toes into article editing. It's a lot more than I felt I was able to get when I joined; I learned mainly by copy-pasting source code from other articles until I knew how to add that stuff myself. Most newcomers will be as clueless as I was when I made my account, so it's always nice to be able to give them a helping hand. Anons is more tricky as you're working with a lot of random IPs or "Fandom User" if you're checking the side rail, and so I'm naturally going to check their edits more, but my practice is the same as how I initially check out new users.
  12. How would you react if someone undeleted an article you'd mistakenly speedied? Under what circumstances would you consider it appropriate to undelete an article mistakenly speedied by another administrator, if any, and how would you approach this task?
    • If I didn't think an article should have been speedied, I'd bring the matter to the administration channel and clear it up there. Usually isn't a imperative rush to bring these kinds of articles back anyways, unless someone accidentally nuked WP:FAN or something :P
  13. How would you react if your user page was vandalized? Under what circumstances would you block the offender? Is there anything else that you would do in this situation?
    • I wouldn't really be much ticked off if my page was vandalised. It can easily be reverted/protected and I'm more than well aware that there's just those types of people on the internet that will want this kind of stuff to get to you. If someone's just gone to the Wook to deliberately mess with my page, then a warning and then temporary block would be more than feasible to deal with them. I would only seek a more immediate/permanent block if the content they were adding was just blatantly hateful stuff like slurs etc. that obviously have no place on the Wook in general.
  14. Under what circumstances would you consider blocking an established user?
    • When they're becoming a detriment to the community (and refuse to adhere to warnings on it), whether its by constantly breaking WP:POINT through arguments and stuff, or by being hateful to others (either to their face or in private). It never feels simple having to block someone who has established themselves among the editorbase, but I understand that if they have chosen a path that can only hurt the community more, then those decisions have to be made.
  15. If you could change any one thing about Wookieepedia, what would it be?
  16. Would you look at a glass to be half-empty or half-full?
    • Half-full.
  17. Do you feel the current blocking policy is too restrictive, not restrictive enough, or OK as it is?
    • I think it's fine as it is. It gives enough leniency for a case-by-case basis and promotes assuming good faith, two things I very much support for stuff like this.
  18. How do you feel about people who already have some influence on other Star Wars communities (TheForce.net, StarWars.com) trying to change policies here?
    • I'm not opposed to external critique, I feel the Wook has been way too pushy against that stuff in the past, and I know that we've had great ideas from people outside the Wook (shoutout CIA391). That said I do understand that there can be times when someone who's Wiki/community's processes work differently to the Wook will want to change something, one SH proposal from a couple years ago comes to mind. My specific answer would be to at least listen to what people have to say and think about it, even if we ultimately don't agree. We can't make ourselves a bubble.
  19. How many clones do you think fought in the Clone Wars? (Note: You are wrong no matter what answer you give.)
    • Let x>0 be arbitrary…
  20. Who is the most awesome Jedi of all time? (Note: The only correct answer is Kyle Katarn.)
    • Cal Kestis, always been a big fan of Fallen Order, and now Survivor.
  21. What's more important to you: consensus or policy?
    • Policy, for the sake of consistency. It can always be changed if the consensus is against it.
  22. Have you had any previous leadership experience (in your community, on the web, etc.)?
    • Nothing that I've truly taken advantage of, I've had my plans for WP:MANDALORIAN on hold for a while, which I am eager to pick up soon. Braha'tok enthusiast Hello there 02:02, 24 July 2023 (UTC)
  23. What is your attitude towards users who have quit the site or have been banned, but still continue to attempt to influence the site in any way?
    • If someone who's been rightly banned or has quit is trying to sway the doings of the Wook from afar, I would certainly be concerned. It's a recipe for unrest within the community. Braha'tok enthusiast Hello there 21:15, 24 July 2023 (UTC)
  24. What is your wiki philosophy?
