"You've taken your first step into a larger world."
―Chack Jadson welcomes a new generation of Inqs galvanized by new FAN voting power[src]

The FAN page has entered a new era of voting possibilities and collective community involvement, and hopefully improved productivity and the same level of sustained article quality, where eligible user votes will now be considered along with Inquisitorius votes on nominations. As we transition into this new age of voting functionality, the Inq prepares for Meeting 33, set for June 5 at 7 PM EST for our North American users. It'll be business as usual, so please do your best to make it, and please leave absentee notes should you be unable to attend. For our non-Inqs who regularly frequent the FAN page, no longer will you feel that your participation is meaningless, so we encourage all of you to review early and often, which is the number one way to showcase yourself for entry into the Inq. It's never too soon to expand our ranks, and I fully expect there to be new candidates awaiting our consideration when this meeting rolls around.

Agenda

Probed articles from Meeting 32

  • Articles extended until Meeting 33:
    • Jaina Solo
      • diff link since the last meeting, [1] diff link since article was first placed on review. All objections listed on the review page, brought up to me via IRC as of this writing have been addressed. Atarumaster88 Jedi Order (Talk page) 22:46, June 5, 2010 (UTC)
    • Harbinger

New articles for review

Expand as needed.

  • Articles in need of update:
    • Beryl Chiffonage
    • Carnor Jax
      • This should be good now. However, if I have missed something, please let me know and I will take care of it straightaway.Tommy 9281 05:04, June 1, 2010 (UTC)
    • Force cage
    • Gandolo IV
    • Great Sith War—besides update, has an incomplete succession box missing the proper years.
      • This should also be good now. However, if I have missed something, please let me know and I will take care of it straightaway.Tommy 9281 05:14, June 2, 2010 (UTC)
    • Ledick Firest
    • Manaan
      • Someone care to specify what is missing?Tommy 9281 05:29, June 2, 2010 (UTC)
        • Still missing population info from the Atlas. --Imperialles 23:10, June 4, 2010 (UTC)
    • Moorja
    • Telos IV
      • If someone can substantiate the need for the {{Update}} tag, then by all means put it back with a detailed explanation of what is missing on the article's talk page. As far as I can tell, this article is missing nothing from the Essential Atlas.Tommy 9281 05:25, June 2, 2010 (UTC)
        • Among other things, it's missing historical information such as when it was discovered, as well as population info ca. 25 ABY. --Imperialles 05:27, June 2, 2010 (UTC)
  • Hoth (individual) (See here)
  • Hallis Saper—first name usage, linking seems to be poor, wrong quote format, speculation/unencyclopedic tone

Discussion items (expand as needed)

  • An idea was brought up recently at the Complete Articles forum which involved the requirement of WookieeProject lead votes on articles that fall within the scope of their respective projects. I would like to discuss implementing this same idea with regard to Featured Article Nominations. We can talk more in-depth about it during the meeting.Tommy 9281 21:02, May 25, 2010 (UTC)
  • Three things: 1: We need a standardized public process for nominating new Inqs. Either we take the lead in developing such a process or someone else will inevitably do so without our input. Development of a process needs to start ASAP. 2: There's not much difference between a long GA and a short FA. If we can create a streamlined process to transition 1000+ word GAs into FAs, we can pad out the queue a bit, maybe more than a bit. 3: Is the FAN limit actually helping? Should we give it another month? -- Darth Culator (Talk) 01:39, May 31, 2010 (UTC)

Can't come

  1. I hate saying "tentatively no," but that is the case. Saturday nights are rarely good for me right now, and I'm pretty certain that I won't be able to make it this time. Once August rolls around, Saturdays will start being a little better. A little. Fiolli {Alpheridies University ComNet} 17:29, May 17, 2010 (UTC)
  2. Per Fiolli. We'll see what happens.Tommy 9281 21:02, May 25, 2010 (UTC)

  4. Will be at Nats game. IFYLOFD (Floyd's crib) 21:52, June 4, 2010 (UTC)

Absentee notes

  1. Okay, I have some thoughts…
    • Up for killing: Kill all but Jaina; extend probe (yet again) as it was updated today as well, and there are some instances of non-encyclopedic idioms and tone. I will have no mercy if I find it unsatisfactory at the next meeting.
    • Up for probing: Keep all but Moorja, Hoth, and Hallis Saper.
    • Tommy's idea: I respectfully disagree with it. Since anyone can make a Wookieeproject on a whim and thereby get a vote (see also WP:RWM and WP:SWG for users who have not proven themselves with quality control).
    • Culator's ideas: 1) Yes, and I've given detailed things to Toprawa that I agree with. Let's do it, if it can really work out. 2) Not fond of it, since I don't like people using the GAN page only as a "trial run" or a means of upping their badge count before an FAN. I also don't care for the idea on the principle of different QC things between pre-AC GAs and our FAs. 3) No thanks. I'm fine with killing it, but I did like some aspects of it.
    • As far as new users: I've talked to Toprawa and given him my votes. See you guys on the other side. Sorry I can't be there. Fiolli {Alpheridies University ComNet} 23:34, June 5, 2010 (UTC)

New examinations

Items discussed

  • Graestan and Xicer9 were voted in as new Inquisitors
  • Harrar is no longer with the Inq
  • The Inquisitorius rejected the idea to require WookieeProject leaders' votes on featured article nominations
  • The implementation of a more public nomination/voting process for new Inquisitors was considered, and it was decided to review the idea at the next meeting
  • The implementation of a process to promote current GAs over 1,000 words long to FAs was considered and discussed; it is to be reviewed at the next meeting after more information on how many candidates meet these terms is gathered
  • The possible overturning of the current 3-FAN limit per user was considered; it was decided to review the usefulness of the limit at the next meeting after a report with statistical information on the activity of the FAN (specifically since the implementation of the limit) is put together
